Sarah Zonneveld, TMU

Sarah Zonneveld is the U SPORTS player of the week in women’s volleyball after two electric wins by the Toronto Metropolitan Bold over the Waterloo Warriors. The third year from Calgary illustrated herself with 38 assists, 15 digs, four kills and a solo block on Friday as they won the match 3-2 after being down 2-0. Zonneveld continued her impressive performance as she led the Bold to their second win of the weekend with 37 assists, 15 digs, three kills and three aces accompanied with 2 block assists. With 8.4 assists per set on the season, Sarah Zonneveld is now fourth in the OUA in that category.

The Bold are back in action as they host the Western Mustangs tonight.

Henry Rempel, Trinity Western

  • Hometown: Swift Current, Sask.
  • Year of Eligibility: 4th
  • Academic Program: Human Kinetics 

Henry Rempel is the U SPORTS player of the week in men’s volleyball following two impressive performances in their back to back matches against the UBC Thunderbirds. The fourth year outside hitter opened the weekend leading the Spartans to a big win on Friday with 24 points from 21 kills, two aces and three digs. Despite coming up short in the second matchup of the weekend, Rempel scored 29 points while he accumulated 26 kills, five digs and two aces. The product from Swift Current, Sask., is now sitting at third in Canada West in kills, kills per set and hitting percentage.

The Spartans will now turn their attention to the final stretch of the season as they host the MacEwan Griffins on Friday.
