Men’s Volleyball
The Calgary Dinos are all alone atop the women volleyball national rankings with the U SPORTS Championship on the horizon.
The Dinos (21-3 / 4-0 playoffs) earned the pole position in the final rankings of the season after sharing it with Montreal last week, thanks to a sweep of their best-of-three Canada West semifinal series against Alberta. Calgary will host UBC in the CW championship match on Friday night.
In other U SPORTS rankings UNB (men’s hockey), Manitoba (women’s hockey), and Trinity Western (men’s volleyball) all remain national leaders in the final polls of the campaign.
Note: The U SPORTS #CHAMPSZN continues this week with Track and Field (Mar. 8-10 at the University of Windsor), Men’s Basketball Final 8 (Mar. 8-11, in Halifax, N.S., hosted by Acadia University) and Women’s Basketball Final 8 (Mar. 8-11 at the University of Regina).
Next week, the Men’s Hockey University Cup (Mar. 15-18 at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton), along with Women’s Hockey (Mar. 15-18 in London, Ont., hosted by Western University), Men’s Volleyball (Mar. 16-18 at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont.), and Women’s Volleyball (Mar. 16-18 at Laval University in Quebec City), will crown their U SPORTS champions. Sportsnet 360 will broadcast the semifinals and finals of the Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball and Men’s Hockey Championships.
