2022 U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championship Semi-final 1: Alberta defeat Calgary 3-1, punch ticket to gold medal match

WINNIPEG (U SPORTS) – Derek Epp tallied 37 assists and six digs in the Trinity Western Spartans dominant 3-0 victory (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) over the Sherbrooke Vert & Or on Saturday in their semi-final game at the 2022 U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championship at the Investors Group Athletic Centre.
Brodie Hofer added 17 kills and Jesse Elser picked up three service aces for Trinity Western, while Yoan David had 12 kills and Jonathan Portelance contributed 25 assists in a losing cause for Sherbrooke.
Trinity Western recorded a .431 hitting percentage in the match, compared to Sherbrooke’s .258.
With the win, Trinity Western advances to play Alberta on Sunday at 4 p.m. CT (5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT) in the gold medal game, while Sherbrooke will take on Calgary for bronze on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT (2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT).
