Kaylee Plouffe, Trinity Western

Kaylee Plouffe is the U SPORTS player of the week in women’s volleyball after two impressive matches that led the Trinity Western Spartans to a pair of victories over the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack last weekend. The 3rd year opened the weekend with a 25.5 points performance from 22 kills and four blocks and followed her masterclass with 23 points on Friday on 17 kills, 3 aces and 6 blocks.

The Trinity Western Spartans are taking on the the No. 1-ranked UBC Thunderbirds next Thursday at home in Langley, B.C.

Chris Byam, Mount Royal

  • Position: Outside Hitter
  • Hometown: Bow Island, Alta.
  • Year of Eligibility: 4th
  • Academic Program: Health & Physical Education

Chris Byam is the U SPORTS player of the week in men’s volleyball after leading the Mount Royal Cougars to a dominating weekend that sent them at the top of the Canada West standings. The Bow Island product was in control of the match against the Winnipeg Wesmen as he scored 15 points on 12 kills and added two digs in their first matchup and followed with another impressive performance on Saturday, registering 27 points from 20 kills, five aces, four blocks, and he also added six digs.

The Mount Royal Cougars will turn their attention to the Brandon Bobcats starting on Friday.
