Les Rams de Ryerson, championnes en titre de volleyball féminin U SPORTS, ont inscrit une autre première pour leur école.
Près d'un an après avoir remporté le premier titre national de l'histoire de l'école, les Rams se sont hissées au premier rang du classement au pays alors qu’elles s’apprêtent à défendre leur titre. Ryerson (16-2) a vaincu les Thunderwolves de Lakehead 3 à 1 lors de son dernier match sur la route de la saison régulière dimanche. Elle terminera sa campagne en accueillant McMaster dimanche prochain.
En ce qui concerne les autres classements U SPORTS, l’Alberta (hockey masculin et féminin), Carleton (basketball masculin), Laval (basketball féminin), Brandon (volleyball masculin) et Guelph (athlétisme masculin et féminin) demeurent au sommet des classement nationaux pour une autre semaine.
Nouveauté cette saison, U SPORTS utilise le système de classement ELO pour le calcul de son classement canadien hebdomadaire. Utilisant RankR, l’algorithme unique d'ELO combine un calcul statistique avec des variables personnalisées, adaptable à toute une gamme de sports. Pour le hockey masculin, il sera combiné aux résultats du vote du panel des médias (chacun pondéré à 50%) pour former le top 10 final. Pour plus d'informations, cliquez ici
