The Wilfrid Laurier University department of athletics and recreation is proud to announce that 120 student-athletes from both the Waterloo and Brantford campuses earned academic honours during the 2019-20 seasonIn Waterloo, 92 student-athletes were recognized by U SPORTS or the OUA for achieving 80 percent or higher last year. It is the highest total in the department’s history and represents a 12 percent increase over last year’s number.
“This is an incredible accomplishment by our student-athletes,” said Laurier’s director of athletics and recreation Peter Baxter.
“It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication that they continue to put into their academic studies as they strive for excellence both in the classroom and on the field of play. They are continuously raising the bar of expectations for future student-athletes in terms of what it means to be a Golden Hawk.”
