Lafrance recorded five points on four assists and a goal, contributing to all of UQTR’s goals in the game. He found Charles Beaudoin for the opening goal less than a minute into the game, before setting up a wide-open Kaylen Gauthier about four minutes later. Gauthier returned the favour in the twelfth minute when Lafrance scored his only goal of the game.

Félix Lafrance scored the Patriotes’ final two goals, on two separate power plays in the second period. Conor Frenette also had two assists.

Goalie Alexis Gravel made 34 stops in the game for the second-seeded Patriotes.

The Aigles Bleus outshot the Patriotes 35-28 but just could not find the back of the net outside of Jeremy Lapointe’s goal midway through the second period. They could not capitalize on the four power play opportunities they received throughout the game.

Olivier Adam made 23 saves for Moncton.

The UQTR Patriotes will face the winner of the last quarterfinal matchup between the McGill Redbirds and the UBC Thunderbirds on Saturday.
