Rewind Day 2: Female Apprentice Coach Program

Funded through Sport Canada, the U SPORTS Female Apprentice Coach Program aims to increase the number of females in coaching positions across Canadian universities, by matching apprentice coaches who have recently graduated, with a head coach in a U SPORTS-sanctioned sport for female-identifying student-athletes.

In the third installment of the program, 18 former U SPORTS student-athletes were selected, with Amanda Ruller of the McMaster Marauders football team making history as being the first female coach in the program to coach on the gridiron.
