Men’s Basketball News

The Victoria Vikes moved up to No. 1 in the U SPORTS men’s basketball Top 10 after sweeping the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack in a two-game series last week. UVic (14-2) is atop the table for the second time this season.

The top three teams made the biggest moves of the week, as the Carleton Ravens (13-4) jumped one spot up to No. 2, and the Ottawa Gee-Gees (14-3) slid two spots down to No. 3.

Rounding out the rankings are No. 4 Queen’s (14-2), No. 5 Brock (13-3), No. 6 Alberta (11-5), No. 7 STFX (13-3), No. 8 Manitoba (15-1), No. 9 UBC (11-5), and No. 10 Winnipeg, who entered the rankings after two wins over UFV.

There are two Top 10 matchups on Friday – both rivalry games – as the No. 2 Ravens will play the No. 3 Gee-Gees in the Capital Hoops Classic, and the No. 8 Bisons will host the No. 10 Wesmen on Friday in the Duckworth Challenge.
