Waterloo’s Hillary Clark and Philippe Morneau-Cartier of Laval are the U SPORTS track and field athletes of the week for the period ending February 12, 2023.
Hillary Clark, Waterloo
Events: Middle distance
Hometown: Elliot Lake, Ont.
Year of eligibility: 1st
Academic program: Optometry
Hillary Clark of the Waterloo Warriors won a pair of golds and was named the Female Athlete of the Meet at the Windsor Team Challenge on the weekend. The Optometry major clocked a time of 4:30.04 to win the 1500-metre run and 2:51.47 to win the 1000-metres.
The Warriors are next in action on February 24th when they travel to Windsor for the OUA Championships.
Philippe Morneau-Cartier, Laval

Hometown: La Pocatiere, Que.
Year of eligibility: 2nd
Academic program: Medicine
Second-year Rouge et Or middle-distance runner Philippe Morneau-Cartier made a splash in the 3,000 metres at Boston University last weekend. Morneau-Cartier completed the 3000-metre event at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in 7:55.93, which lowered his personal best by about twenty seconds and represents the best time in the country over this distance this season.
