Our student athletes on the international scene

The U SPORTS International Program provides a platform for Canadian student-athletes to participate in international high-performance competitions. The Winter and Summer Universiade Games and World University Championships are held on alternating years, and are open to Canadian student-athletes between the ages of 17 and 25, enrolled full time in a post-secondary institution. At these events, selected student-athletes are provided with the opportunity to represent Team Canada and compete against other student-athletes from around the world.

Usports International

As the national member of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the U SPORTS International Program is mandated to facilitate high performance competitive opportunities for student-athletes who are Canadian, between the ages of 17 and 25, and enrolled in a post-secondary institution.

Separate Winter and Summer Universiades are held every two odd years, and offer competitive opportunities in over 20 sports. On even years, single-sport World University Championships are offered from February to December, and are generally sports not offered at the Universiades.
