The Ottawa Gee-Gees defeated the Dalhousie Tigers 91-83 on Sunday afternoon in the bronze medal match at the 2024 GreenShield U SPORTS Final 8 Men’s Basketball Championships at the Laval University PEPS in Quebec City.

The Gee-Gees step on the podium for a second straight year after also winning bronze in 2023 in Halifax.

Participating as the guest wildcard team for this tournament, the Gee-Gees were trailing the Tigers by three at the half. However, the Ottawans scored 25 points in each of the final two quarters to turn the tables on end their journey on a winning note.

Justin Ndjock-Tadjore shined all afternoon and completed the game with 26 points and nine rebounds. He scored 18 of these points in the second half, including 13 in the final quarter.

Honoured as a member of the All-Canadian First Team earlier this week, Malcom Christie was even more dominant in the loss, scoring 31 points, including 15 beyond the arc and 12 from the free-throw line.

The Dalhousie Tigers conclude their run fourth in the nation, their best result at these championships since 2022 when they won a silver medal.
