The "Golden Game" takes place this weekend as Sherbrooke Vert & Or (3-2) hosts the No. 5 Laval Rouge et Or (4-1) at the Stade de l'UdeS.
In the first matchup between these squads, Laval took a 27-3 Week 1 victory over Sherbrooke. Laval pivot Arnaud Desjardins completed 28 of 38 attempts for 308 yards and a touchdown, while his favourite target Kevin Mital reeled in four catches for 66 yards and a score.
Desjardins currently leads U SPORTS with 14 touchdown throws and is second in the nation in passing yards per game with 299.6, while Mital leads the country with eight touchdown receptions.
Sherbrooke is coming off a 38-14 thumping of the Concordia Stingers, which saw six players combine for 305 yards on the ground. Lucas Dalin averaged 7.8 yards per carry for 164 yards and a touchdown in the victory. His biggest play of the day was an 83-yard scamper in the second quarter that set up a three-yard touchdown rush by Gianni Casati.
