Offensive Player of the Week: Jonathan Sénécal, Montréal

Jonathan Sénécal completed 26 of his 30 pass attempts for 397 yards and four touchdowns – a career high – on Saturday in the No. 4-ranked Carabins’ 43-11 win over the McGill Redbirds. He was particularly impressive in the first half as he threw only one incompletion on 16 pass attempts. His four majors came to four different receivers as the Carabins celebrated their return to the CEPSUM stadium.

Defensive Player of the Week: Alex Fedchun, STFX

  • Position: Defensive Lineman

Alex Fedchun led the No. 5-ranked STFX X-Men defence with eight tackles in their 22-8 season opening win over Bishop's Saturday, recording three solo and 10 assisted tackles. He had 2.5 sacks in the game for a loss of 15 yards, and in doing so broke the STFX all-time career sack record of 18. He now has 19.5 career sacks and is fifth overall on the AUS career sacks list.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Thomas Veinot - Acadia

  • Position: Kicker/Punter
  • Hometown: Bedford, N.S.
  • Year: 3rd
  • Program: Business

Thomas Veinot kicked the game-winning field goal for the Axemen with no time on the clock to give Acadia a 15-13 victory on the road over the Mount Allison Mounties. A sequence on the previous play featuring three punts and a No Yards penalty gave Acadia one chance to tie the game with no time remaining and Veinot made no mistake. He finished the day 2-for-3, while also kicking one extra point for seven total points.
