McGill defensive back Benjamin Labrosse was the first U SPORTS player selected in the 2024 CFL Draft, as he went fourth overall by the Calgary Stampeders on Tuesday evening. 

Labrosse was one of four U SPORTS players who went in the opening round. He was followed by Laval Rouge et Or receiver Kevin Mital (No. 5, Toronto Argonauts), Windsor Lancers offensive lineman George Una (No. 6, BC Lions), and Laval Rouge et Or offensive lineman Nathaniel Dumoulin-Duguay (No. 7, Hamilton Tiger-Cats). 

Overall, 47 U SPORTS standouts were selected out of 74 total picks (63.54 per cent) over eight rounds. 

Canada West led the way with 18 selections, followed by the RSEQ with 14 – with the UBC Thunderbirds and Laval Rouge et Or each having the most players picked with seven. 

In all, 20 of the 27 U SPORTS programs had at least one player chosen.
