Thunderbirds take semifinal match against Acadia

Lucie Romeo struck twice for Victoria in the first half to push the Vikes over UPEI, 20-5, in the second consolation semifinal at the 2022 U SPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship on Nov. 4.
Victoria’s tries were scored in the 10th, 15th, 30th, and 47th minutes by Lucie Romeo (2), Mariam Ibrahim, and Carissa Norsten, respectively, while Emma MacLean replied in the 35th minute in a losing cause for UPEI.
With this win, Victoria advances to play UBC on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. in Centennial Stadium for the consolation final, while UPEI ends their season with an overall regular and post-season record of 4-4.
