U SPORTS Staff
All U SPORTS national leaders held serve over the weekend, as the winter sports season nearly wrapped up its first half.
UNB (men’s hockey) Concordia (women’s hockey), Carleton (men’s basketball), Saskatchewan (women’s basketball), and Trinity Western (men’s and women’s volleyball) remained at No.1 on Tuesday, ahead of the exam and holiday break.
Swimming (Calgary men, UBC women) and wrestling (Brock men, Saskatchewan women) rankings will resume in the new year, along with the debut of track and field rankings starting in 2020.
For the second straight season, U SPORTS is using the ELO Rating System for the calculation of its weekly national rankings. Powered by RankR, ELO’s unique algorithm blends a statistical calculation with customized variables that is adaptable across a range of sports. For more information, click here.
