The No. 1 seed Sherbrooke Vert et Or will play for a U SPORTS gold medal after silencing the home crowd and defeating the host Queen’s Gaels 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-21) Friday afternoon at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC).

The Vert et Or controlled the game throughout, winning the first and second set comfortably. The Gaels gave Sherbrooke a challenge in the third set, but the No. 1 seed weathered the storm for the four-point set win and the match.

It was a team effort for Sherbrooke on offence. Julien Vanier led the way with eight kills, while Zachary Hollands finished with seven, Gregoire Mercier-Noe added six, and Yoan David had five in the win. The Vert et Or finished the game with a .333 hitting percentage.
