As the 2022-23 Women’s Field Hockey regular season nears an end, the two-time defending U SPORTS champion No. 2 Victoria Vikes (5-0-1) take a back seat to No. 1 Toronto Varsity Blues (9-0-1) in this week’s standings.
After a pair of wins over No. 3 Guelph Gryphons (7-1-2) and Waterloo, the Blues have secured first place in the OUA to dethrone their crosstown rivals, No. 4 York Lions (7-2-1).
The OUA East and West wrapped their 2022-23 regular seasons following last weekend’s games. The No. 5 UBC Thunderbirds (4-1-1) host the Vikes for the final matches of the Women’s Field Hockey regular season with back-to-back tilts at Wright Field in Vancouver on Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23.
