In the final 20 minutes of the match, the action heated up, with both teams trading opportunities to score. Calgary missed their best chance for an equalizer when Kelsie MacDonald fired a shot over the crossbar.

The Rouge et Or utilized their tight defence to to burn the final minutes and secure a win to close their season.

“We wanted to go for gold, but at least we played a really good game against the Dinos. I’m really excited that we finished with a win,” said Laval’s Player of the Game and striker Joëlle Gosselin. “I decided to stay in Quebec (City) because it’s my hometown, and we went to five nationals. We did the best we could, and I’m proud of it.”
