Mia Friesen dominated the women’s 57kg weight class on Sunday at the Guelph Open. The second year from Brock University defeated her opponents from River Falls Wrestling, Calgary and Western to earn first place. Friesen’s outstanding performance at the Guelph Open helped lead Brock to first place in the women’s division and overall.

The Badgers' next tournament is at the Western Open on Saturday.

Treye Trotman, Western

Academic program: King’s University College

Treye Trotman was a force to be reckoned with as he went 3-0 at the Guelph Open and outscored opponents 30-0 as he swept his way to the gold medal. This is the first-year student’s fifth gold in five tournaments.

Next up for Trotman is the Western Open on Saturday.
